breaking out of the wedding mold is a-ok in my book. every couple has their own history, story and celebration of love in their own plans. i love being a part of something special and helping create it.
liz and paul love to hike & be outdoors. it was only fitting we found one of their favorite spots to make it official. we started at their house (which their back door faces DIRECTLY to the walking trail), made stops along the way for fun photo opts and the big cliff that overlooks Rutland.
we found a perfect spot where the sunset was with us and liz and paul decorated their own 'alter' with seashells & paper hears. the words & emotions exchanged were beyond touching & beautiful. (not really sure how i didn't start bawling, but i kept it together!)
there ceremony included vow & ring exchanges but also a tree planting, poem, candle lighting and some bubble blowing. paul was in for a BIG surprise when liz arranged a talented musical crew who just *happened* to pop out to sing 'how sweet it is to be loved by you' by james taylor! paul was surely surprised & they celebrated by dancing their first dance as a married couple.
it was above and beyond simple yet touchingly beautiful. i can not thank liz & paul enough for making me a part of their sweet wedding day in the woods of rutland, vermont. xoxo
