"game on, fortunately my shame's gone, over and out - 'bout to go cow tippin' in the rain storm."

when you think of Vermont, what comes to mind first?
Green Mountains? Hippies? Granola Chrunchers? Bernie Sanders? Ben & Jerrys? Maple Syrup?

One thing is for sure (and may be surprising), the hip-hop scene is thriving.
These boys have capitaved my attention and their full debut album Always Fresh, Never Clean has been in my car cd-player non stop for months now. I just had to meet them and know more about who these guys were and how they work.

DJ KANGANADE

a classically trained drummer, it's a no brainer why his arrangements are so danceable.
dj kanganade puts the final touch on all tracks with his beat heavy scratching and classic samples from movies like Pulp Fiction, tv shows and vintage songs.

RICO JAMES

hailing from new york he finds vermont "small but cultured," welcoming and where he calls home.
This man is responsible for the sick beats in and out of the hip-hop genre, a true musical talent.

"anybody who wants to compete with me here's some advice: YOU BETTER START TRYING HARDER"

TRONO

since this kid holds a degree in English, it only makes sense he is the main lyricist. he invites us to put on his glasses and see the world from his perspective. though not always PG (or even PG-13) Rated, Trono mixes pop culture, dark yet optimistic advice and incorporates our local Vermont topics like the on-going battle with heroin we face or that he:

"I am the stigma you misrepresent

I back backpackers screaming

'Bernie for president.'"

"i'm gonna ignore your hate and walk by-
my road's not paved and you shouldn't try-
to follow my footsteps, mimic my movements,
life can be ruthless but livin's not foolish"

this album start to finish never gets boring. there are mellow tracks, more upbeat, smart & catchy lyrics and dj works that will make you want to quit your day job and start sampling + scratching tracks. (ok, maybe it's just me guilty of this). with other vocal features from: Cormac, Backwood MC, Snacktime, Joe Santoru and Andrew Stearns, it has been a friendly production that has created this collection of fresh and new tracks.
